Health Risks

I don*t know about you but I already have enough health risks without adding to them. Unbelief in God, neglecting Him and continuing in sin create a health risk. Substituting faith in our own understanding for faith in God and being wise in our own eyes (pride) add to the health risk.

Proverbs 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Psalms 37:3: Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

I wonder how many starve to death because of sinning rather than doing God*s good will.

Deuteronomy 5:16: Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 27:16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Matthew 15:4: For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

Ephesians 6:2: Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

I wonder how many lives don*t go well and are shortened by dishonouring parents.

Deuteronomy 5:33: Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.

I wonder how many lives are shortened by simply disobeying God.

Ezekiel 18:20a: The soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

There is no exact formula known to man but it may be that the more we sin the sooner we will die. And then there is the glorious truth that when we have received Jesus, He has put eternal life within us and forgiven our sin we will never die.

John 11:26: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Sin causes both spiritual death, separation from God and physical death, separation of soul from body. Rejecting Christ guarantees that we will die in our sins both physically and spiritually.

John 3:36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

1 John 3:14: We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
